When the Light Dies Down by NiGHTmaren-Cosplay When the Light Dies Down by NiGHTmaren-Cosplay
My photographer finished the set for the Princess Kraehe shoot, this is the first in that set that I am uploading. I am so proud of this costume! I never thought I'd be able to create a real classical tutu, accurate to the stage ballet. It was an incredible learning experience. The only purchased pieces on this costume were the tights, demi-pointe shoes, and wig. Everything else was handmade, right down to the tutu panty. It was a few months of hard work, mostly with pleating the diamond net for the tulle and the bead work on the tutu plate and bodice overlays. I love the final result though. :) If you have any questions regarding the construction, please don't hesitate to ask, I like to be helpful! This particular photo was taken in a little alcove off to the side of one of the main convention halls, where a spotlight was shining down. It was nighttime, so it created a very nice atmosphere similar to stage lights. Which for Kraehe, worked really well! Also, this is the Odile tutu she wears in one of the official pieces of artwork. I recreated it to be like an Odile tutu in the classical ballet, so there are few tweaks here and there to make it look more like how a real ballet outfit should look and function like one, too (for example, the nude inset on the bodice and the dagged netting instead of using real feathers, since you would never use real feathers at the edge of a real tutu for many reasons). Anyhoo, I hope you enjoy! This costume was a dream of mine for years, I am glad to now have it in my collection of costume works! Photography by Nicolai Andrews, costume made and worn by me!

The detail is, infact, fantastic. You did such an amazing job! And that you've even done your research for making it actually ballet accurate and such. The dedication you put into this costume really shows. c:

This is absolutely lovely. I don't know anything about costume-making, but I can still tell a lot of effort, love, and yes, skill, went into the crafting. It is gorgeous. You make a lovely Rue/Kraehe.

Thanks! Posing was a bit tricky for me since I have never taking so much as a single dance lesson in my life. Though I do want to start taking adult classes at the local studio.
